Pre-pregnancy, I’d think nothing of spending an entire night on myself. I know it’s selfish and completely vain but pampering for me has always been a way of switching off, a way of relaxing. My sister would agree. Her pre-children days always consisted of a lovely long hot bath, indulgent new skincare and lots of tanning. I’ve been told by so many people to make the most of the last days before baby comes. But like many, I just want to cuddle up in front of the TV with a hot chocolate and sleep. Who at 40 weeks pregnant can really be bothered with all that hassle?
But what I’ve found is that actually, there are so many bath time and skincare products that require zero effort but make you feel a million dollars. And believe me when your feet resemble shoe boxes and your eyes need sticks to hold them open, you’ll appreciate it so much more. Here are my favourite fuss free pamper products, just click the image to buy!

I haven’t used Elemis for a while. Not for any particular reason just that it hasn’t been on my radar since my mini obsession a few years ago. This super cleansing treatment balm is definitely a real game changer. You only need a tiny bit of the wax like product on each cheek, your forehead, nose and chin and it’s really easy to massage in to your face. It removes heavy makeup and cleanses all in one easy manoeuvre. When water’s applied, it turns into a milk like consistency and then with a quick rinse, skin is left super clean and nourished. Perfect even on days when you haven’t worn makeup and just want to get the city grime off.
Those fuss free last few days before birth normally means wearing little to no makeup at all. So for a wide eyed look I love the Eyeko lash curler. They lift my lashes from the root and give a more expressive look to eyes. They don’t crimp lashes thanks to their black velvet handles. It allows us to give just the right amount of pressure to the lashes when lifting and curling.
Ladies, we all know that towards the end of pregnancy, we’d much rather sit in front of the TV and spritz ourselves all day with a lovely refreshing face mist. Well the reality is our lives are so much more demanding than allowing for lots of TV. But there are some great face sprays on the market. Like this Dermalogica’s ultra-light toner. When I’m not wearing makeup, I love to carry this around with me (especially in London where pollution and grime is detrimental to our skin). It contains pregnancy favourites Arnica and Cucumber extracts to help keep skin smooth and refreshed, making it ideal for rehydrating skin.
A firm favourite of mine since I reviewed it last year on SITC. Although a bit more pricey (£99), the mask leaves you feeling like you’ve spent time at a salon having a detailed facial. It’s superb for boosting skin’s hydration levels, great particularly when pregnancy skin is more on the dry side than ‘dewy glow’. It’s filled with anti–ageing active ingredients, vitamins and minerals and a real treat when skin really needs it. Just pop on, leave and wipe off. Fuss free at its best.
In those final few days, feeling so uncomfortable and tired, the last thing you want to do is create masses of fuss over your hair. GHD’s ‘Straight & Smooth Spray’ has been so useful for me. Spritz on before drying or straightening and say hello to frizz free, sleeker and more styled hair with little effort. It’s lightweight so doesn’t make your hair greasy on day 2 and smells great.
